Boston, Mass., April 7, 2015 – Powerhouse Dynamics, creator of the award-winningSiteSage® enterprise energy and asset management system, announces today that it has achieved Level 1 PCI compliance. PCI standards are set by the Payment Card Industry’s Security Standards Council as part of the effort to protect credit card information. Level 1 compliance is the highest achievable level, intended for merchants processing at least 6 million credit card transactions per year. The certification is based on the latest, more stringent data security standard, DSS 3.0, and covers Powerhouse Dynamics’ operations, including all facets of the SiteSage system. SiteSage is designed specifically for multi-site operators of small commercial facilities, such as restaurant, convenience store, and retail chains, all of which are deeply engaged with protecting themselves and their customers from security breaches.
“While our system had already achieved a different level of compliance, in this era of heightened security concerns among our customers, and among consumers, we feel it is critical to do everything we can to ensure that our product meets the highest level of security standards” said Martin Flusberg, Powerhouse Dynamics CEO. “Most of our customers process credit card data; our new certification provides them the extra assurance that they can deploy our system in their facilities without compromising the security of their systems, and maintain their own PCI compliance.”
SiteSage is an enterprise-level energy and asset management system that allows customers to control HVAC and other electrical loads centrally with a highly intuitive web interface and mobile apps. The system remotely monitors equipment and uses patented analytics to diagnose performance issues and identify savings opportunities. SiteSage makes it simple to benchmark facilities as well as the performance of individual pieces of equipment across the enterprise, allowing multi-location companies to prioritize resources and identify best practices.
The system concentrates all communications through a single point, or gateway, and is ideally implemented outside a company’s firewall, separating it from any confidential systems or information. Communications only flow from the gateway to the cloud, and there is no way to access the gateway directly. This is core to the product’s security architecture, which has now been validated through the most stringent level of PCI compliance testing.Learn more about SiteSage security here.
SiteSage is currently installed in thousands of facilities across North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
