Bertucci’s and Powerhouse Dynamics earn Top Project of the Year Award from Energy Manager Today

Boston, Massachusetts, November 30, 2015 Powerhouse Dynamics, creator of the SiteSage® energy and asset management system for multi-site operators of small commercial facilities, today announced that the SiteSage project at Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant received a Top Project of the Year Award from Energy Manager Today.

The judges found Bertucci’s SiteSage project to be exemplary. One judge said of the project, “A 12 month payback should be a no-brainer for most firms. It seems to be a solid low cost option for retail controls and monitoring. I like the additional ability to monitor use of individual pieces of equipment… this adds additional functionality and value to the client. The phased pilot approach showed great results.” Another added, “The project, by all indications, was very successful. The level of integration between the software and the restaurants is very high.”

The Energy Manager Today Awards is a program recognizing excellence in products and services that provide companies with significant energy management benefits, or in projects implemented by companies that improved energy management and increased the bottom line. Scores were determined by a panel of independent judges from the following companies: Accenture, CapitalOne, City of Alexandria VA, COX Enterprises Inc., General Motors, MUFG Union Bank, IBM, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, US Department of Health & Human Services, USG Corporation, and Wellborn Cabinet Inc.

With rapid advancements and a continuous rate of change in the field, energy professionals have a notoriously difficult time knowing what products to choose to help their companies increase energy savings and improve energy performance. The Energy Manager Today Awards give companies a solid base of products, vetted by experts, from which to choose, as well as a variety of successful projects to illustrate how successful initiatives in energy management are helping companies improve.

“We were impressed by both the number of submissions and the caliber of the entries in this first year of the Energy Manager Today Awards. The winners showed an amazing variety in the way energy reductions and savings can be achieved. Energy management is a cutting-edge field in which to be operating today; the winners here prove that innovations are opening up vast new areas of potential for improvement, and that companies are capitalizing on those opportunities in exciting and impressive ways,” says Paul Nastu, publisher of Energy Manager Today’s parent company, Business Sector Media. “Entries that were awarded Top Product or Project of the Year are those that should be carefully considered by companies seeking to improve their own operations in a similar manner.”

Bertucci’s has achieved impressive results with SiteSage, and we’re proud to be recognized by Energy Manager Today for this project,” says Powerhouse Dynamics CEO Martin Flusberg. “Bertucci’s was able to reduce electric use by 12{9e9e99e0aa33304967f3b3f95b41a9c8b857afbbbf6b3eae28bf86859e197ae9} and gas use by 9{9e9e99e0aa33304967f3b3f95b41a9c8b857afbbbf6b3eae28bf86859e197ae9} in their locations, and see a sub-12 month payback. In addition to saving energy, the system also reduced repair and maintenance costs at their restaurants by providing advance notice of equipment issues, resulting in fewer truck rolls and fewer emergency calls.
