At the end of the monitoring period do I have to continue my subscription to continue to use SiteSage for Homes?

If you choose to terminate your subscription, you can still get access to your basic SiteSage data in one of 2 ways.

First, the SiteSage Energy Monitor has an embedded web server that you can access over the web like any other site. We can provide you with the URL at any time (please note that this is raw data with no graphics, but does provide real-time energy usage numbers).

We will also provide you with all historical data upon request. What you no longer get when you discontinue your subscription is access to the on-line Dashboard and apps, all diagnostics, analysis and alerts.

What is provided as part of the ongoing subscription service?

The subscription service covers access to the system on the Internet and through iOS and Android apps, hosting of your data, full back-up and recovery service, access to all future versions of the software at no additional cost, and proactive monitoring and analysis to make you aware of both savings opportunities and problems or issues with your home.

Does SiteSage for Homes connect with home control systems?

SiteSage can send data to several popular home control systems, including Crestron, AMX and Savant.

Can SiteSage for Homes be installed outside if that is where my electric panel is located?

SiteSage wireless architecture enables the system to be installed entirely inside the service panel, facilitating outdoor installation. No additional weather-proof enclosures are required. The Gateway can be placed inside the home and out of the weather. As long as the Gateway is within 30' of the SiteSage Energy Monitor (even through outside walls), it will communicate wirelessly with the Energy Monitor inside the service panel.

Does SiteSage for Homes monitor geothermal heat pump systems?

Yes, SiteSage for Homes can monitor the amount of electricity produced and used by a heat pump system, including multiple pumps. An upgraded software license will be needed.

Does SiteSage for Homes take into account Net Metering?

Yes. When local energy production exceeds usage, the system will show power being sent back to the utility grid in the form of Net Metering. The system calculates the amount of Net Metering that has occurred over different time periods.

Can SiteSage for Homes monitor production of my wind turbine?

Yes. SiteSage can monitor any renewable energy system, including wind. No additional hardware is required, but an upgraded software license will be needed. The system also calculates the savings generated by your wind system.

Can SiteSage for Homes monitor energy production from my Solar PV system?

Yes. SiteSage can monitor production of any PV system using any inverter. No additional hardware is required, but an upgraded software license will be needed. The system also calculates the savings generated by your PV system.

How many circuits can be monitored by SiteSage for Homes?

In theory, it is unlimited. In practice, there is a limit on how much information it makes sense to look at.  We currently have customers monitoring as many as 240 circuits. If you have many circuits, you might want to consider excluding those circuits you know to use fairly small amounts of power.

I have more than 1 circuit panel; can SiteSage for Homes handle that?

Yes. The SiteSage platform can monitor multiple circuit panels. You can install SiteSage Energy Monitors in each of the circuit panels in your home to cover all individual circuits. There are models specifically designed for sub-panels. When you access the SiteSage data on-line or via your mobile device, all SiteSage Energy Monitors are treated as a single system.
